MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
 

Your PAGB membership is valid for ONE calendar year and is due for renewal at the beginning of the new year. In order to facilitate the renewal process, the PAGB allows a grace period until the next Pakistan Day (23rd of March). If you haven’t renewed your membership until then PAGB no longer considers you a current member and hence the benefits mentioned above do not apply. If the above is not the case, please contact the Director of Membership or General Secretary to rectify the problem. The current members list can be found at:

Membership Benefits

  • Voting Rights at PAGB Elections and General Assembly meetings: All members receive full voting rights at PAGB elections held annually for the positions of Director of Membership, Director of Public Relations and Director of Social Affairs. Elections are also held every two years for President, Vice President, Treasurer and General Secretary. Members also get voting rights for any issues up for debate at the General Assembly meetings. This is your chance to get your voice heard.
  • Discounts of up to 20% on all PAGB events. Some of the favorite community events are the annually held Independence Day and Eid Celebrations. Discounts apply to all immediate members of the family. Preferred seating in all PAGB events and Members also get the exclusive privilege of reserved seating.
  • Discounts on PAGB sponsored and/or non-PAGB events: From time to time, PAGB gets the chance to buy bulk tickets to PAGB sponsored and/or non-PAGB events for a discounted price. These discounts are passed to the members. That means that members can enjoy the most sought after events of the Pakistani community in the New England area for a price not available to most others.
  • Promote Pakistani Culture and Awareness: Your membership money helps to sponsors various artists from Pakistan to speak or display their talent to the American community at large. Some of the artists we saw the year 2002 was writer Salima Hashmi whose book PAGB helped to launch in Boston. PAGB also sponsored the first live television program of a Pakistani artist called “Sitar Magic” on Somerville TV.
  • Support Pakistani Students in the Area: Your membership money also supports the Pakistani students in the various universities around the area. In 2003 PAGB held a subsidized Iftar and dinner for students to welcome them to the community.
